Sac State Tour
This month some of our students toured California State University, Sacramento. During the tour, our students had an opportunity to meet several employers at a job faire. Trips to community locations occur concurrently with classroom instruction. Students may initially learn and practice a skill in the classroom; they will eventually practice the skill by applying it in a home or community setting. For example, a student who learns math skills in the classroom may later practice those skills during a shopping expedition or deepen their understanding of career related jobs by touring college campuses and potential places of employment.
“Our staff is fully committed to teaching students how to maintain appropriate behaviors for work and community settings so that they can be effective contributors to society while living independently.”
